What it is
757 Tech is a free email newsletter that goes out every Monday morning. Each issue collects what is happening in Hampton Roads tech that week: upcoming events and meetups, open jobs at local employers, and news from the community.
It is free, it always will be, and it is not gated behind membership or donation. Reading it costs nothing and asks nothing.

Why a newsletter matters more than it sounds like it should
A regional tech community has an information problem before it has anything else. Events exist, but they are scattered across half a dozen platforms — one group posts to Meetup, another to LinkedIn, a third only tells its own mailing list, and a fourth announces on a social network you happen not to use. Jobs are posted at individual companies with no local aggregation. The result is a community where plenty is happening and almost nobody can see all of it.
757 Tech exists to be the one place that collects it. That makes it, in practice, the most broadly useful thing RevolutionVA produces. A conference reaches the people who can give up a Saturday and afford a ticket. The newsletter reaches everybody else too — people on night shifts, people with small children, people who are not comfortable walking into a room of strangers yet, and people who live on the wrong side of a tunnel from wherever the event is.
It is also how our own programs stay findable. Announcements for Hampton Roads DevFest and for Pop-up Meetups go out here first. Notably, the newsletter covers events run by other organizations too — we are not the only ones doing this work in the region, and a listing that only carried our own events would be worth much less to the reader.
