Our mission
RevolutionVA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose goal is to unite developers in Hampton Roads and all of Virginia through conferences, educational events, and other programs that benefit the community.
Hampton Roads is a dozen cities separated by bridges and tunnels. Developers here can work on the same problems for years without ever meeting, because there is no natural place to run into each other. Somebody has to build that place on purpose β so since 2016, that is what we have done, entirely with volunteers and no paid staff.
What we do
Hampton Roads DevFest
Our one-day developer conference
A one-day developer conference in Hampton Roads, run by volunteers for the local software community. Held six times since 2016, it is the only conference RevolutionVA currently runs, and its most recent edition was its strongest.

Our regional developer conference, 2016β2019
A regional developer conference that ran for four consecutive years, growing from a single day in 2016 into a two-day event. Its four editions remain the best-attended thing RevolutionVA has produced.

Topical events that cut across the community
One-off events built around a topic rather than a technology, a city, or a user group. When a subject matters across the whole regional community but does not belong to anyone in particular, it gets a Pop-up Meetup β hosted wherever in Hampton Roads makes sense that time.

Support RevolutionVA
For ten years, RevolutionVA has united Hampton Roads developers through Hampton Roads DevFest, Pop-up Meetups, and the 757 Tech newsletter — entirely run by volunteers, with no paid staff.
Becoming a RevVA Supporter is different from sponsoring a conference. Event sponsorship funds a single weekend. RevVA Supporters fund the year-round programs, planning, and operations that make any of it possible.
Or give a one-time gift:
Who runs it
